Day 9 of 21 Days of Prayer

John 16:24
Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.

Last week I shared with you Isaiah 37:14-20, the story of Hezekiah receiving bad news about how the Assyrian king planned to destroy Jerusalem just like He had destroyed other kingdoms.  Hezekiah laid that letter before God and put his eyes on God instead of the problem.  Hezekiah did something else, he asked God for the solution and for His help.

Many times when we are in the midst of a trial, we forget or don’t even know to ask God for the answer or for His help.  God wants to help us, but He likes to be asked.  In John 16:24, Jesus said that we are to ask God in the name of Jesus and we will receive.  It doesn’t say you might receive, it says you WILL receive.

When I received the lawsuit papers, I began to pray and ask God for the solution.  God said that it would be dismissed and it was (even though I waited 18 months for it to be resolved).  I didn’t know how He would do it, but I believed THAT He would do it.  If I had not received the revelation that the case would be dismissed we would have had 18 months of worry.  Instead I rested in His promise and continued to serve Him and His people with joy.

What are you facing today?  What are you believing God for?  Have you asked God for the solution?  If not, do it now!  It is not too late.  His line is never busy.  When you receive the answer (which Jesus said you will) you will enter into rest.  You will have the strength to fight fear, worry and doubt when it tries to overshadow God’s promise.  What do you have to lose? Why not go through your trials God’s way and have His supernatural result?
