Day 1 of 21 Days of Prayer

Genesis 1:1-2

“In the beginning God.” We know this historically and theologically, but do we really know this in our own Christian walk and in our daily lives? This first statement of the entire Bible is what our faith rests on. It is absolute and unshakable. He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last, He who was, and is, and is to come! He is the author and finisher of our faith! On Him rests our all!

Mark 11:22 refers to “the God-kind of faith”. Genesis 1 shows us the God kind of faith in practicality! In Genesis 1, “God created”. Faith is a creative force by which our world is, and can be framed!

So what does the God-kind of faith look like?

First, the God-kind of faith is declarative! “Then God said”. He declared light would be, and light was! Second, the God-kind of faith is definitive! “And God saw”.  The world God saw was good! Faith defines things in this way. It speak better things, it sees better things! Third, the God-kind of faith is determinative! “God called the light day… So the evening in the morning were the first day.” Your words prophecy of your future!

In this season of new beginnings, let us seek first to have the God-kind of Faith! What are you believing God for?
